After a lot of research. Looking at many different electric bikes on line and locally I took the dive and purchased one this weekend.
I purchased an Aventon LEVEL step through commuter bike.

I thought I would share my thoughts on why I chose a ebike.
1. With my OA one big benefit I see is if I run into trouble. I have problems out on a ride, run out of strength or energy I can use the pedal assist or throttle to get back where I need to be.
2. I am able to bike with my Aventon. Take today, I went out on a 35 minute bike ride. I had not been on one in years. The winds were really strong and I was still able to handle going. I used my pedal assist on level most of the time. sometimes level 2 when bucking the wind. And I went without any assistance at all for part of the time. This sure gave me a workout. I was wore when I got back. Don't let people tell you these bikes aren't a workout. They sure can be if you let them be.
3. I can use this bike to get around also without assisting it. I need to get it started and up to 3 mph. Then I can throttle it to go where I want to go.There are a lot of benefit for someone like me. Someone who needs to keep moving. Wants to keep living and having a life. I really think an electric bike is the way to go.
The E Bike I wanted I was not able to get. So this was the next step up. With my research I have heard some people are having long waits. I know one company I was really interested in I would not be able to get my bike until July. So if you are interested and want one sooner then later check shipping dates or local stores.
If you would like to try one please let me know. My son and his girlfriend both have less expensive models purchased on line. Then there is mine. It can be bought on line or possibly at Eric's bike shop in the Twin Cities.
